Hello! I'm Sarah
I am a fourth-year PhD student in Software and Information Systems at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My primary research domains are Usable Privacy & Security and Human-Computer Interaction. I am proud to be a part of the Security and Privacy Experiences research group (SPEX Lab) under the supervision of Dr. Cori Faklaris. I am also affiliated with the Human Centered Computing Lab (HCCLab at UNCC).
Before joining UNCC, I worked as a lecturer at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology and Northern University Bangladesh in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I earned my B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology in 2018. I am committed to advancing the field of usable privacy and security through empirical research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a dedication to making technology safer and more user-friendly.
Research Interest
My research interests lie at the intersection of human-computer interaction and usable privacy & security. My current projects focus on identifying technological vulnerabilities, particularly in the context of SMS phishing (smishing) and social media communications. Additionally, I am exploring cross-cultural online privacy perceptions, with a specific interest in the vulnerabilities faced by marginalized populations such as migrants.
